International Family Law - Hague Convention
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – July 12, 2022: Michael S. Green, Esq. of Green & Associates, LLC wins after trial international law Hague Convention case in United States District Court, District of New Jersey, which ordered the return of two children wrongfully retained in the United States back to Belgium, their habitual residence, pursuant to the 1980 Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, implemented through the International Child Abduction Remedies Acts, 22 U.S.C. § 9001 et seq. Mr. Green represented Petitioner Christophe Soulier.
A decision was issued after a three-day trial in federal court in Newark, New Jersey, and three years of litigation, including New Jersey State Court proceedings in Bergen County, where Mr. Green also won at trial arguing successfully for jurisdiction to be declined under the UCCJEA due to the unjustifiable conduct of the Respondent.
